5 Bank Holiday Wellness Tips

August 25, 2022 admin 0 Comment

It’s the last bank holiday of the year and probably the last of the good weather before the nights start to draw in.

Therefore, we think it’s the perfect opportunity for you to up your levels of wellness and de-stress with some self-care tips over the long weekend.

Self-care is time spent doing things that make you feel better about yourself, balance out work and life and help you to de-stress. You could call it, me time!

Whether it’s surrounding yourself with friends, escaping into nature or cooking for family, take some me time this weekend.

Get lost in nature

Get exercise, increase your serotonin levels (the feel-good hormone) and suck up that fresh air with an outdoor excursion into nature. Taking a trip to the park, woodland or nature reserve is a great way to switch off from the daily grind and unwind. It’s a brilliant way to practise self-care that won’t break the bank.

Fun with friends

Channelling energy from friends can be a great way to recharge and switch off. It doesn’t have to be the typical boozy bank holiday night out, maybe invite friends over for an evening of catching up. Meet up for a coffee or hit your favourite restaurant. As long as it’s good company, it doesn’t matter.

Food for family

Try out a new dish, cook up a family favourite and share some good food with the people you love, it’s a great self-care exercise and something to immerse yourself in. Big sharing dishes are the perfect solution to get everyone involved.

Dump the devices

Take time out from the digital world. Give your eyes a rest and give yourself space to slow down. Taking a break from the screen and social media might be all you need this bank holiday weekend to chill out and achieve relaxation.

Try something new

Research has shown that learning something new can improve your mental well-being by boosting self-confidence and self-esteem. Is there a new hobby you were always meaning to start or a new skill to try – now’s the time!
